State Member for Forest Hill, Neil Angus MP today welcomed the official opening of the 24-hour Forest Hill Police Station at 469 Springvale Road, Forest Hill.

“It was terrific to finally be able to attend the official opening of the $12 million Forest Hill Police Station which was fully funded by the previous Victorian Government,” Neil Angus said.

“Having campaigned at the 2010 election for the establishment of a police station in Forest Hill and subsequently turning the first sod on the site with the then Police Minister, today is a great day seeing the project fully completed.

“I am also very proud to say the former Government listened to the local community and delivered on its commitment to build a state-of-the-art police station in Forest Hill, as part of its community safety agenda.

“The Forest Hill Police Station now operates as the Eastern Divisional Headquarters and is a base for over 80 police officers.  It provides services to the wider Whitehorse community and neighbouring municipalities.

”Community safety continues to be a big concern to many of my local residents and it is reassuring to know that these new premises will better enable the Victoria Police to respond to and tackle local crime,” Mr Angus said.

Residents can contact the new Forest Hill Police Station by calling (03) 8847 3600.
