Lookout – Here comes Clean Up Australia Day! – Sunday 5 March
State Member for Forest Hill, Neil Angus MP is on the lookout for volunteers from the community to help Clean Up Australia on Sunday 5 March at The Lookout Trail parklands in Vermont South.
”I will be hosting my eighth consecutive Clean Up Australia Day event on Sunday 5 March in Vermont South and I’m asking local residents to get involved and help clean up their local area,” Mr Angus said.
Volunteers can register through the Clean Up Australia Day website at; http://www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au/The+Lookout+Trail. The event will run from 9am-10am along the Dandenong Creek Trail, behind the Whitehorse Recycling & Waste Transfer Centre in Vermont South, known as The Lookout Trail.
“The Lookout Trail has been a great location over the last eight years, where we have collected a whole range of rubbish, including old tyres, abandoned shopping trolleys and even discarded machinery and bicycle frames.
“If you’d like to join me on Sunday 5 March, along with other residents and do your bit for the local environment, please register online. Everyone is welcome!
“Volunteers can also register on the day at 9am near the parklands gate at the corner of Donbirn Way and Highbury Road, Vermont South, Mel Ref 62 J10.
“BYO sunscreen, hat, water, protective gloves and footwear to play a small, but important part in protecting our precious local environment from litter,” Mr Angus said.
