An elected Liberal Nationals Government will fund a $4.8 million upgrade of facilities for students and teachers at Vermont Primary School.
The funding for the school will enable the rebuilding of the central administration classrooms building.
The desperately needed upgrade will fix major structural issues including loose asbestos, termites, rising damp in classrooms, water damage caused by leaking roofs, and electrical faults.
In 2015 the Andrews Labor Government disgracefully cut the planned $4.5 million in funding planned to upgrade the school.
An elected Liberal Nationals Government will support the school and provide this much needed funding.
Comments attributable to Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy:
“There’s been a huge population growth in the eastern suburbs but Daniel Andrews and Labor have no plan to provide the extra school, health and roads infrastructure to accommodate that growth.
Neil Angus is a fighter for his local community and a great believer in the power of education so this funding for Vermont primary has been a huge priority for him.”
Comments attributable to Member for Forest Hill, Neil Angus:
“For far too long, Vermont Primary students and staff have had to endure substandard classrooms and working conditions.
A Liberal Nationals Government will fix this and give current and future students, and their families, the confidence to attend in a school which provides students with a top education and is a valued part of our community.
Three years ago Daniel Andrews and Labor cut the planned $4.5 million for upgrades to Vermont Primary School.
For local school parents the choice at the next election is pretty clear: more broken promises from Daniel Andrews and Labor or an elected Liberal Nationals Government which will guarantee $4.8 million in funding for facility upgrades for Vermont Primary School.”
