UFU Secretary Peter Marshall has been caught out trying to inflate his salary in an attempt to boost his retirement benefits by more than $1 million, at the expense of Victorian taxpayers.
Last Wednesday VCAT rejected Peter Marshall’s massive cash grab and questioned the evidence Mr Marshall relied upon.
This follows revelations that Daniel Andrews’ mate and UFU boss, Peter Marshall, is being paid over $400 000 a year.
Labor’s Assistant Treasurer, Robin Scott, when questioned in Parliament today acknowledged that Peter Marshall’s conduct warranted further examination.
In her judgement, Senior VCAT Member Elisabeth Wentworth found that:
· Mr Marshall’s claimed “superable salary was difficult to reconcile with the payroll evidence”; and
· remuneration totals previously advised to the Board “were difficult to reconcile with Mr Marshall’s payroll advice slips”
The judgement also revealed that Mr Marshall relied on an email from his own PA, who reports to him, as evidence of his claim.
Daniel Andrews has been beholden to union bosses like Peter Marshall for too long, as evidenced by his relentless attacks on CFA volunteers.
It’s time that Daniel Andrews holds these powerful union bosses to account before the law, just like every other Victorian.
